Spike says:
- A very dark brew that despite its light carbonation
pours with a good head (which does not linger). It has a bit of an edge
to it, and is moderately sweet with a slight cola taste and an unusual
aftertaste. The aftertaste is not unpleasant at first, but the character
changes from root beer-like and becomes spicy. I can't identify which
spice - the first thing that comes to mind is "metallic" (like
when you cut your finger and suck on it to stop the bleeding), but that's
not a spice. All in all, not a bad brew...quite good in fact. It's identifiable
as root beer; always a plus with "all natural" root beers,
yet is has a slightly different, woody taste to it that gives it a character
of its own. I give it a B+. (yeah, despite the bloody aftertaste. Go
figure.)
