Sioux City Root Beer

Sioux City Root Beer

Manufacturer:
Distributed by White Rock Prod. Corp. (800) 969-ROCK
The Pitch:
There isn't one on the bottle, unless it's "CA REDEMPTION VALUE". I don't have the box.
The Ingredients:
Carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, caramel color, sodium benozate (preservative), natural and artificial flavor, and citric acid.

Spike says:
Medium dark with a head that quickly dies. Nice bottle, poor brew. In addition to the label painted on the front, the back of the bottle has a picture of a cowboy coming through swinging double doors...the picture is in raised glass, a la IBC's bottle. What don't I like about this root beer? That's easy...too much carbonation, too much wintergreen taste. And there's a funky aftertaste. You know you're in for a treat when the preservative is listed before the flavoring in the ingredients. This root beer is just hard to drink. It's not nasty, but harsh. And that's sad. Each new root beer I taste brings a hope of something special...I always feel let down when I run into something sub-par. This one has truly earned a D.
