Spike says:
Gack! It tastes like soap! Well there's a heck of a first impression, eh? Upon further sips (yeah, you'd think I'd stop after that first) it's not quite soap. I actually thought there was ginger in it. Flat as Twiggy, dark as the night on which the moon is new. Ok, maybe not quite that flat but not overly fizzy either. A little bit of a bite, somewhat spicy, nice and sweet too. A little wintergreeny for my tastes though. This has the same ingredients as their birch beer, just in a different order. Hmmm... Might make a good float (or "black cow" as one person wrote to me - hi Judy!) This would probably be good on a hot day, and it's in a 24 oz bottle. This was tough to rate - I like the spices but hate the wintergreen. It's a tough rate...I'd say it's worse than IBC but not by much: D+
