Spike says:
Dark, headless. Lightly carbonated. My first impression was "mmm, minty goodness" as I thought I detected a strong wintergreen note. I'm not so sure it's wintergreen, though it is a definite possibility. Despite the fact their pitch sounds a lot like Journey's, this root beer is actually drinkable. The "cane juice" is evident, as is the vanilla (adds a little creaminess). Thank God I couldn't taste the juniper berries - I hate that flavor more than wintergreen (so I avoid things like gin, Zima, juniper bushes). After deeply inhaling the smell of the brew for a few minutes I became dizzy from hyperventilation. I also can almost figure out what I am smelling...it smells like a hint of molasses and wood. Go figure. Maybe I'm smelling the maple. Anyway, it's not an offensive drink except I find it a bit acidic for my tastes, which surprises me because I was sure there was a link between phosphoric acid and a good head. Fairly mild. Taste is too rootbeer-candy-like though.. Survey says...a C-.
