Spike says:
- Foamy at first, but alas, it doesn't last. Nice
dark color. Aromatic, in a way that says "Certs". Yes, wintergreen
fans, this brew's for you. Not for me, unfortunately. This root beer
is somewhat lifeless, just sitting there in the cup. I put my ear into
the mug and in addition to the ocean I could hear a few bubbles, but
not many. That's not necessarily bad. Emboldened after a few root beers
I like to chase my wife around the house...nothing sends me packing
as fast as an inadvertent burp in her ear. But I digress. Hey, did you
notice the ingredients? "Crystal clear carbonated water"!
Does this mean, by implication, that other soda makers are using cloudy
water? It's like the jug on the water cooler at work. The label reads,
"Pure bottled water." I can't argue with that. The water is
indeed in the bottle. Personally, I'd rather have "bottled pure
water" but that's probably more expensive. Anyway, this one has
a sharp taste with an aftertaste that probably comes from the combination
of acid and mint. It's not bad; I'd drink it if served to me but it
wouldn't be first off the shelf into my cart. I was thinking C-, but
then I thought again and ended up with ...D+.
